July 31: Trekkers are not allowed to walk alone in the area above Namche in the Everest region. According to Solukhumbu District Police Office, there is an increase in the number of disappearances of local and foreign tourists who came on tour without a guide or companion.

District Police Office Solukhumbu Deputy Superintendent of Police Suniljung Shah informed that a companion is mandatory for visiting the area above the Namche Police Station because after reaching the high Himalayan region, people will get sick, and suffer various calamities.

Chief District Officer Anil Khanal said that he has already sent a circular to the ministry to implement the decision completely.

Few months ago an Indian and a Korean citizen who came on a solo visit to the Khumbu region have gone missing. The police said that although the search mission is conducted for them, the situation has not been revealed yet.
