11/11/2023: A French tourist, identified as 68-year-old Patrick Jean Marie Moul, tragically lost his life after a fatal fall while trekking in Rasuwa district’s mountainous region on Thursday. Moul sustained severe injuries during his trek at Langtang, en route to Kyangjen, Gosaikunda.
Security personnel in the Langtang area were prompt in rescuing the injured foreign trekker. Despite swift efforts to transport Moul to Kathmandu for medical treatment via a Fishtail helicopter, he succumbed to his injuries during the flight, as reported by Deputy Superintendent of Police Subash Budhathoki.
In the wake of this unfortunate incident, local residents are urging travel and trekking companies to prioritize the safety of senior trekkers and tourists by providing experienced guides. The incident serves as a sobering reminder of the inherent risks associated with mountain trekking and the importance of precautionary measures for the well-being of adventurers.
