October 28, 2022: Norwegian climber Kristin Harila who was trying to complete 14×8,000m in a short period of time . She has already done 12 of the 14 peaks. Only Cho Oyu and Shishapangma is left for her Both mountains are on china but she did not received permit to climb mountains from Chinese authorities.

She tried to summit Cho Oyu from Nepal side but cannot summit due to bad weather conditions. She was aiming to beat Nirmal Purja’s record by climbing all 14 peaks within six months.

She wrote “Right now I am just trying to come to terms with the past 6 months, and especially all the effort we have gone through to try and get the permits for the last two mountains Cho Oyu and Shishapangma . We have left no stone unturned in this process, and have exhausted every possible avenue to make this happen, but unfortunately due to reasons out of our control we were unable to get the permits in time.As you all know I have put everything I have on the line to make this happen, and falling short with just 2 peaks left due to factors out of my control is something I am struggling to process right now.

She returned to Norway from Kathmandu.

But according to Eberhard Jurgalski of 8,000ers.com Nirmal Purja did not properly summit Manaslu and Dhaulagiri until two years later so Kristin Harila has still time to become fastest to summit 14×8,000m.
