Dec 29, 2023: After an eight-month and three-day investigation, the Commission formed to probe the Yeti Airline’s aircraft crash on January 15, 2023, in Pokhara has concluded that the incident was a result of human error. The report was submitted today to the Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati.

Former Secretary Nagendra Prasad Ghimire led the five-member probe commission, which included retired captain Deepak Prakash Bastola, retired Captain Sunil Thapa, aeronautical engineer Ekraj Jung Thapa, and Joint Secretary Buddhi Sagar Lamichhane from the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation.

Minister Kirati, upon receiving the report, has instructed relevant authorities to diligently enforce the recommendations put forth by the Probe Commission. The government had promptly formed a commission on the day of the plane crash to investigate the unfortunate incident.
