22 Sep 2022: Climbers from different teams scaled Mt Manaslu today. Norwegian climber Kristin Harila and her Nepali climbing companions Pasdawa and Dawa Ongju Sherpa reached the true summit point at around 2:36 pm Nepal time, They completed 8000er in less than five months. Kristin Harila wants to beat the record of Nirmal Purja aka Nimsdai, who summited all 14 peaks in six months.
According to sources renowned climber Sanu Sherpa along with Mingma Thinduk Sherpa and Chinese climber Hu Tao reached the true summit at around 2:50 pm. Sanu has become the only climber in the world to scale all 14 peaks above 8,000m twice. “But, he has decided to re-scale Manaslu this season following the controversy over real versus fore-summit.
According to the Department of Tourism, more than 700 climbers including 400 foreigners are attempting Manaslu this season.
