January 26, Kathmandu: The weather, which has been affected by the western low-pressure system for the last few days, is expected to gradually improve from Friday. According to Varun Poudel, senior meteorologist at the Department of Water and Meteorology, the weather is likely to improve gradually as the weather system will weaken from Friday. “Until Thursday, there will be partial to normal cloud cover across the country,” he said.

The department has issued warnings and advice for the next 24 hours. Light showers are likely in a few places in the far west, Karnali and Lumbini, and one or two places in the rest of the states.

At present, there is a normal change in the far western states and Gandaki states of the country but there is a partial change in the rest of the states. Also, light rain is falling in one or two places of the far western region.

On Thursday, there will be partial to normal cloud cover in the hilly areas of Province No. 1, Bagmati, and Gandaki and partial cloud cover in the hilly areas of the rest of the province. According to the Meteorological Department, light rain is expected in a few places in the hilly areas of the country and light snow is also expected in some places in the high hills and mountainous areas of the country.
