March 24, Kathmandu: Ukraine urges Nepal to ban Russian nationals coming to Nepal for mountaineering. The Embassy of Ukraine in India has written a letter to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation through the Nepalese Embassy.

Ukrain letter

Ukraine’s letter states that thousands of civilians, including 117 children, were killed and around 10 million were internally displaced by Russian armed attacks on its territory.

Ukraine urged Russian mountaineers not to be welcomed in Nepal by mountaineering teams from other countries. Ukraine has said that the Nepalese mountains are sacred and divine and that it is a matter of concern to fly the flag of the country responsible for the killings in such places.

The letter said, “It is a matter of grave concern that the Russian flag, which was responsible for the brutal massacre in Ukraine, was hoisted on the sacred and divine Nepali mountain.”
