April 08, 2023: Kami Rita Sherpa, a legendary mountain climber who has already climbed the world’s highest peak Everest 26th times, is set to climb Mount Everest for the 27th time. He is a world record holder for climbing Everest most of the time. He will depart for the Mount Everest base camp in a few days to prepare for her 27th climb.

At the age of 53, Kamirita Sherpa from the Khumbu Pasanglhamu municipality has climbed Mount Everest more times than anyone else, In addition to climbing Everest 26 times, he has also climbed eight other of the world’s highest peaks, including Cho Oyu, Manaslu, Lhotse, and Kanchenjunga.

In the previous season, he had successfully climbed Mount Everest twice in three different seasons.

In 2009, 2010, and 2013, he climbed Mount Everest twice in a single season and was also responsible for fixing ropes up to the South Col from Camp 2. In addition, he led teams to fix ropes up to the Lhotse face in just six days in 2019 and led teams to fix ropes up to the Everest summit from Camp 2 in 2021 and 2022.

In this season, he led the team on an expedition to climb Mount Everest. Sherpa’s belief is that his Everest climbing contributes to the development of Nepal’s tourism industry. In May 1994, he climbed the highest peak above 8,000 meters for the first time in the Chukhung Valley, and his record of climbing more than any other person on the summit still stands.
