42nd World Tourism Day is celebrated with the slogan ‘Tourism for Inclusive Growth’.Various programs are being celebrated in Nepal as well. Tourism Day is celebrated every year on September 27, this day is also being celebrated in Nepal.

This year’s Tourism Day is being celebrated in Pokhara with a special program. On the eve of Tourism Day, ambassadors from 11 countries have come to Pokhara.

Nepal Tourism Board also organized different programs on the occasion of tourism Day.

Cycle rally, Tree plantation Program was also organized.

The Nepalese Tourism industry was established in the 1960s. According to the Ministry of Tourism, in 1964, 9,526 tourists visited Nepal. Since then, the number of tourists visiting Nepal has been increasing. In 1998, the number reached 463,624. With the increase in the number of tourists, 1998 was celebrated as the year of visiting Nepal. Since then, the number of tourists in Nepal has been increasing. The highest number of tourists entered Nepal in 2018 and 2019. Before the COVID, 1,197,101 tourists visited Nepal in 2019, but by 2020, the number had dropped to 230,085.
